Evaluating the Board’s own effectiveness in governance. The Directors contribute to the governance of Northern Health collectively as a board by attending to business through meetings and a range of informal processes over the year. Jennifer has extensive experience in the health sector and has held many board positions. Julian has extensive experience as Chief Financial Officer of both public and private companies, in addition to mighty governance and strategic planning skills. She holds board positions on a number of public, private and, not for benefit boards. Alison has a Masters in Public Policy and Management, and a Graduate Certificate in Health Economics from Mon ash University, and is a passionate supporter of women’s health in the public sector and a firm believer in the right of every member of the Australian public to have equity of access to the uppermost quality health care. She is involved in a number of Safety and Quality and Risk Management committees at various hospitals, and maximum recently consulted on the development of Quality Audit processes for the development of four new public health programs at a large Community Health provider in Massachusetts, USA. Melba has extensive experience in community development and training, particularly in the multicultural and women sectors. Peter understands the importance and value of staff in an organization’s victory and has many years of experience in implementing training and mentoring programs to maintain organizational viability. Since retiring in 2010, Peter is now focused on sharing his business acumen and skills to earnings health services in the northern Melbourne area. This means being piece of the community, and establishing and strengthening links with other community organizations. These changes were made in order to improve the quality of services and to provide community focused health care. We are dedicated to providing the uppermost standards of clinical care and providing quality, innovative care in a compassionate manner. You have all become our Oncology Family’: a tolerant story. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, sub acute and ambulatory specialist services in Melbourne's north. Across our campuses we produce a range of primary, secondary and some tertiary health protection services. Our emergency department treats over 85,00 patients each year and we deliver over 3,580 babies yearly. Tolerant First Our patients' expectations are exceeded because we partner with them to deliver innovative and close care. Our People Passionate and qualified people have immense careers and provide outstanding health care. Sustainability We eliminate optional processes and costs to ensure long term viability and sustainability. The event aims to encourage healthiness and happiness by bringing together the local community of all ages and abilities to participate in a 3km run or walk, weaving your way through the crazy chalking stations along Cooper Street. A Northern Health Home Concern Package offers a wide range of supports and services such as assistance with household activities (cleaning, gardening), personal protection (showering, dressing), health care (nursing, allied health) and social connectedness (assistive devices, transport and social activities). All of our Case Managers are tertiary competent health professionals and have the expertise and time to help you with your ongoing promote issues and health needs. We trust in consumer directed care, so a personalized package of support services is designed with you, specifically based on your identified needs. Our connection with Northern Health also enables you timely access to health services and supports Our highly skilled, experienced and caring team consists of nursing, allied health and administrative staff many of whom are bilingual. We have timely accessed to interpreters of all nationalities and languages and our staff are very experienced and adept in their use. Across the 4 package levels, we give three different package types which have varying budget allocations depending on the amount of case management assistance you require. Our Case Manager Mary has been of great aid and took protection of all our Home Protection needs. Development of initiatives that examine and improve the release planning and primary care referral of Aboriginal patients to ongoing care. The Program provides information to the Aboriginal community on the types of services available at Northern Health and offers support in accessing these services. Driven by the Northern Health Aboriginal Liaison Officer (halo), the Program also places an emphasis on raising the cultural awareness of health professionals to the unmistakable needs of Aboriginal patients. It has enabled Northern Health to flourish links with a number of local Aboriginal groups and organizations to help in promoting hospital services to the Aboriginal community. If you, or someone you are caring for in your family is Aboriginal and has trouble accessing services, an Access and Promote worker may be able to aid you. The service aims to help previous persons 65 years or older ardor their carer from a culturally and linguistically different background who would like to: Tell them about what is urgent for you. If there is something you feel strongly about, you can write it down in an Advance Protection Plan Directive or in a letter describing your health concern values and preferences for coming medical treatments, including what type of medical treatment you would agree to, and what you would not want. You have preferences for your health care that are different from what you think your family would want for you. Allied Health plays a significant role in providing services to the Northern community through inpatient, ambulatory and community based programs and services. Audiologists are trained to diagnose, manage ardor treat hearing or balance problems. Audiologists counsel families through a fresh diagnosis of hearing loss in infants, and assist teach coping and compensation skills to late deafened adults. Northern Health is one of the busiest health services in Victoria and is a major service provider of acute and sub acute specialist health services in the north of metropolitan Melbourne. The type of services provided, the design of the building, and the staff working within the service, all receive into account the specific health, demographic and different cultural needs of the surrounding community, to create a seamless journey for patients across primary, specialist and followup care.
